Help offered for family homeless from fire
AAP
A family left homeless when candles sparked a fire that gutted their house had their power cut off earlier that day.
Electricity company AGL has confirmed it disconnected the power to the house at Kingston, south of Brisbane, on Monday morning after repeatedly unsuccessfully trying to contact the family over unpaid bills.
AGL spokeswoman Nicole Lyons told AAP they have put the family of eight up in temporary accommodation.
