Gunman fires rifle in Brisbane hotel raid

A bandit has fired a rifle into the ceiling of a Brisbane hotel before fleeing empty handed.

Police say the gunman entered the hotel at Oxley just before 10pm on Sunday and demanded staff hand over cash before firing his weapon into the ceiling.

He fled with nothing and remains on the run. Police say he may be travelling in a dark coloured ute or riding a motorbike.
