Guns found at Qld crash, driver charged

A driver who crashed doing burnouts in the front yard of a Gold Coast home has been charged after a handgun was allegedly found in his car.

Police say the man was revving his car and honking the horn in the driveway of a property at Bonogin in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

He also did several "skids" before crashing down a grassy slope.

A handgun and two replicas, along with the injured 37-year-old driver, were found in the wreck of the car, police say.

He was taken to Gold Coast University hospital with minor injuries.

He will face Southport Magistrates Court on Thursday on four charges including unlawful possession of weapons.
