Green new Qld competition boss

The Queensland government has appointed Professor Roy Green to head the state's power and water price regulator.

Prof Green, the Dean of University of Technology Sydney's business school, has been named as the Queensland Competition Authority chairman for a three-year term.

He previously worked for the Keating government, former UK prime minister Tony Blair and was an industry policy advisor for the Gillard government.

Prof Dean replaces Malcolm Roberts, who resigned in May to become CEO of the Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association.
