Gold Coast shooting accused to face trial

A Gold Coast man who allegedly shot another man twice in the stomach will stand trial on an attempted murder charge.

Jay Ellison, 26, was committed to stand trial in the Brisbane Supreme Court at a date to be determined after allegedly shooting the man outside the victim's Southport unit in February.

Ellison has also been committed to stand trial in the Southport District Court on an unrelated robbery with actual violence charge and has been remanded in custody.
