Man charged after mother and daughter injured in alleged hit-run on Gold Coast
A man has been charged after allegedly hitting a mother and daughter with a stolen car and fleeing the scene on the Gold Coast yesterday morning.
The pair stepped out onto a pedestrian crossing at Mermaid Beach at 9am yesterday and were allegedly hit by a silver Mazda 2.
The car and alleged driver were found by police in a neighbouring suburb shortly afterwards.

The 57-year-old woman suffered arm and back injuries and the 23-year-old suffered injuries to her pelvis.
Both were rushed to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
Police say the car was stolen from the street where it was parked on Ipswich Road at Woolloongabba in Brisbane on Saturday afternoon.
The 32-year-old North Ward man has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a vehicle and adversely affected by an intoxicating substance and fail to comply with reporting.
His license has been suspended and he is due to face court today.
