Girl critical after Qld near-drowning

The Queensland Ambulance Service is warning people to be vigilant after a pair of near-drownings in the state on Sunday.

A two-year-old girl was transferred by helicopter to the Lady Cilento Children's Hospital in a critical condition after a near-drowning at Woodford, north of Brisbane, while a short time later a one-year-old girl was taken to the same hospital in a stable condition after a near-drowning at Daisy Hill.

"QAS have responded to high number of water related incidents this weekend, please be vigilant around pools, lookout for family and friends," the service tweeted in the wake of the two incidents.
