A Gold Coast man charged with the murder of New Zealand woman Warriena Wright has had his case adjourned until the New Year.

Gable Tostee, 28, didn't appear during a case mention at Southport Magistrates Court today.

Tostee is accused of killing Ms Wright after she fell from his Surfers Paradise apartment within hours of meeting him on social dating website Tinder in August.

He is also facing other charges including obstructing police, creating a public nuisance and driving offences unrelated to Ms Wright's death.

Tostee's legal representative Kate Clarke told the court she was seeking a partial brief of evidence from police amid fears it could take up to five months for some evidence to be produced.

His bail application in the Brisbane Supreme Court last month has been adjourned to allow his defence team to compile a report on his mental state and alleged autism.

Today's matter was adjourned until January 12 with Tostee to remain in remand until a resumption date is given for his bail application.
