Brisbane bus drivers take further action

More industrial action by Brisbane bus drivers is expected as the city's council and unions continue to clash over pay and conditions, in a dispute which has been running for seven-months.

Following a four-hour stoppage on Wednesday a Brisbane City Council spokesman confirmed Rail, Tram and Bus Union members won't collect fares as part of the action planned for Friday.

"Commuters should expect to pay a fare as normal because there is still a requirement by the state government for people travelling on council buses to pay a fare," the spokesman said.
