Four LNP MPs approved for Qld election

Four Liberal National Party MPs have been given the nod to stand again in the Queensland election.

LNP president Bruce McIver says the party executive has endorsed Tourism Minister Jann Stuckey, Leader of the House Ray Stevens, Technical and Further Education Minister Saxon Rice and Assistant Minister for Planning Reform Rob Molhoek to recontest their seats.

"The MPs have all demonstrated a strong commitment to their electorates and are working hard to make Queensland a better place," Mr McIver said in a statement on Friday.

The four MPs will now have to face a vote of rank-and-file members at branch meetings.

The executive has been reviewing the candidature of all state MPs before the election.

Last month they dumped former housing minister Dr Bruce Flegg from the seat of Moggill, but his chosen successor was rejected by branch members so he's since reapplied.

Redlands branch members dumped sitting MP Peter Dowling, famous for plonking his penis in a wine glass, despite the executive approving him.
