Flood assistance for Qld councils

Queensland councils impacted by flooding and heavy rainfall over the Christmas period will receive disaster assistance from the Queensland and federal governments.
The financial help has been made available to councils in Aurukun, Boulia, Burke, Carpentaria, Cloncurry, Doomadgee, Etheridge, Kowanyama, McKinlay, Mornington, Mount Isa, Pormpuraaw and Richmond.
It will help cover the costs of repairing community infrastructure significantly damaged during the downpour between December 20 and 31.
