Teen charged over alleged abduction of five-year-old Queensland girl

A teenage girl has been charged after a five-year-old girl was allegedly abducted from her Queensland home.

The young girl was allegedly taken from Tay St, South Mackay at about 12.30am yesterday, sparking a child abduction alert. 

She was eventually by police found safe and well in Mackay around midday. 

A 15-year-old Slade Point girl has been charged with abduction of a child under 16, burglary and committing an indictable offence and stealing.

A 22-year-old man who was also allegedly involved in the incident has been charged with possession of dangerous drugs and stealing.

The teen will be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act, while the man will appear in the Mackay Magistrates Court tomorrow.
