Fire engulfs unit north of Brisbane

Firefighters have extinguished a blaze at a unit block at Margate, north of Brisbane.

Emergency services were called to the Baynes Street property about 3.30pm on Monday, but no residents were home when the flames broke out, a Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said.

Three fire trucks had brought the blaze under control by 3.50pm.
