Fire burning near houses in Qld

Fire crews have been called to protect five structures from a grassfire burning in north Queensland.

Six crews are on the scene of the fire at Carrington, south of Atherton, which started around 12.45pm on Wednesday.

A Queensland Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman told AAP there are houses in the area but said crews had not requested more assistance.
