Explosives cleared from southeast Qld home

A suburban home in southeast Queensland has finally been cleared of huge amounts of explosives.

Police revoked their declaration of an emergent situation at the Rochedale South home on Thursday afternoon.

They initially locked down the area after finding chemicals for making explosives riddled through the property, as well as bullet casings, spent munitions and an inert training grenade.

Police explosive experts have been removing and clearing the items for the past five days.

The resident, who police say they where alerted to after a tip-off about his Facebook posts, is in police custody.

James Christie Fraser, 32, is charged with a number of offences including manufacturing explosives without authority, failing to correctly store explosives and two counts of unlawfully possessing weapons.

He's also expected to be charged with cannabis possession after police found more than 170 grams of the drug at the property.

Fraser is due to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on November 19.
