Ex-Billabong boss to be sentenced in Jan

Former Billabong CEO Matthew Perrin will be sentenced for fraud and forgery in January.

The 44-year-old was this week convicted of forging his ex-wife's signature to obtain a $13.5 million loan.

The matter was mentioned briefly in the Brisbane District Court on Thursday morning in Perrin's absence, where sentencing was set for January 27.

But the jury in his week-long trial was unable to decide on three further forgery charges.

Perrin mortgaged his family's $15 million property in Surfers Paradise without permission from his former wife Nicole Bricknell, who owned the house.

He claimed he had his ex's permission to sign her name on legal paperwork and had been doing so throughout their relationship.

Perrin was remanded in custody.
