Two Queensland men have died in separate single vehicle crashes, while an elderly woman has died from injuries she sustained in a traffic incident almost two months ago.

An 85-year-old man has died in hospital after the car he was driving crashed into a tree and burst into flames at Cooyar, north of Toowoomba, shortly before 7pm on Thursday.

In a separate incident, a 20-year-old male driver was killed in a single vehicle crash south of Croydon in Queensland's Gulf of Carpentaria around 6pm on Thursday.

He was found dead at the scene by a family member and police have launched an air and land search of nearby bushland to find his 25-year-old passenger.

Meanwhile, an 85-year-old woman has died in hospital more than seven weeks after being injured in a crash on the Sunshine Coast.

The woman was injured when a sedan failed to give way at a Nambour intersection on July 1 and collided with the station wagon she was travelling in.
