Elderly hitch-hiker missing in Qld

An elderly man who can't speak or hear and who may be trying to hitch-hike to southeast Queensland has been reported missing.

John Henry Marks, 71, was last seen at a house in Dysart, southwest of Mackay, on Thursday night and hasn't contacted his family since.

Police believe he may be trying to hitch-hike towards the Darling Downs.

He is described as Caucasian, 178 centimetres tall, of a slim build, with a fair complexion and short grey hair.
