NZ man extradited over Qld toolbox murders
A New Zealand man extradited to Queensland over the Logan toolbox murders has had his case briefly mentioned in court.
Waylon Ngaketo Cowan Walker is the eighth person to be charged with the murders of Cory Breton and Iuliana Triscaru, whose bodies were retrieved from a dam in February 2016.
It is alleged Walker and seven others killed the 28-year-old man and 31-year-old woman on January 24 in Kingston before submerging them in a large metal toolbox.
Walker, who is listed as having an address in Mackay, was extradited from Auckland on Thursday, five months after Queensland police issue a warrant for his arrest.
The 28-year-old was represented by a solicitor in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday and his case will return to court on September 25.
Tuhirangi-Thomas Tahiata, Trent Michael Thrupp, Tepuna Tupuna Mariri, Webbstar Latu, Stou Daniels, Davy Malu Junior Taiao and Ngatokoona Mareiti was are also charged with murder and remain in custody.
