East Brisbane fire sends smoke over peak-hour traffic

Firefighters are battling a blaze at a business in East Brisbane, which is sending smoke over local streets.

Paramedics are also on standby, as Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews douse the Manilla Street fire.

Part of the street has been closed as emergency services respond. 

Footage from the 9NEWS helicopter also shows residents at a nearby apartment watching the emergency unfold, with one man using a hose to douse another building as a precaution.
