'Drunk' L-plater hits Townsville house

Police allege a learner driver had a blood alcohol reading of 0.176 when he crashed his car into the front of a Townsville home.

The 19-year-old's car mounted a footpath, crashed into a parked car and then hit the front of the Mt Louisa home, causing extensive damage to the property about 10.30pm on Sunday.

Learner drivers are required to be alcohol free and he's been charged with dangerous driving, drink driving, unlicensed driving and failing to comply with learner licence requirements.
