Driver who killed Qld girl Indie dies

An elderly driver who hit and killed Queensland girl Indie Armstrong has died after telling her husband she could not live with her sorrow.

Miriam Grace Paton, 86, died in hospital on Wednesday after a long period of illness that followed the six-year-old girl's death in a Sunshine Coast car park in June. She had been facing driving charges.

In her last words to her husband, Stuart, the former school teacher said: "I've killed a child and I don't want to live anymore," a report in The Courier-Mail says.
