Driver rescued from floodwaters in Qld

A motorist has been rescued from floodwaters and four state schools closed after heavy rain along Queensland's central coast.

It's understood the driver, who was pulled to safety on Wednesday morning after his vehicle became stuck on Dairy Inn Road, between Rockhampton and Yeppoon, wasn't aware the road had been closed.

Meanwhile, Byfield State School, Farnborough State School, Ridgelands State School, all north of Rockhampton, as well as Yarwun State School near Gladstone have been closed due to flooding.
