Drive-by shooting sparks Qld police chase

Police have been forced to abandon their pursuit of a car involved in a drive-by shooting west of Brisbane.

A shot was fired from a white SUV into a house at Lowood about 1am on Wednesday. The house was occupied at the time but no-one was hurt.

Police spotted the vehicle a short time later and tried to intercept it, but safety concerns forced them to abort the chase.

A crime scene has been set up at the Lowood property as the hunt for the vehicle continues.
