Croc removed from lake in far north Qld

A 3.1-metre saltwater crocodile has been removed from a lake in far north Queensland.

Wildlife officers captured the croc in a floating trap at Ferndale Lake at Warri Park, Port Douglas on Saturday night.

The saltie, believed to be the same animal which attacked a dog in May, was taken to a holding facility on Sunday and will be relocated to a crocodile farm or zoo.

Its capture comes just weeks after a 4.3-metre crocodile attacked and killed New Zealand-born Cindy Waldron at Thornton Beach, north of Port Douglas.
