Creche worker who struck boy fronts court

A Townsville childcare worker who punched a four-year-old boy has been placed on a good behaviour bond.

Cynthia Gaye McIntosh pleaded guilty to common assault in the Townsville Magistrate Court on Friday.

She was trying to discipline the child in November 2014 when he struck her, and she hit back, the court heard.

The 42-year-old had initially been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm but this was later dropped.

She's been placed on a 12-month good behaviour bond, with no conviction recorded.
