Cop in alleged tryst with Watts: report

Former NRL player Anthony Watts, who has been linked to bikie gangs, reportedly had a sexual relationship with a Queensland police officer.

The Gold Coast Bulletin says the Queensland Crime and Corruption Commission is believed to have taken over an investigation into claims a Gold Coast-based constable was romantically involved with Watts.

It's believed the constable lived near Watts, a former professional rugby league player who has been linked to both the Finks and Mongol outlaw motorcycle gangs.

Since his rugby league career ended in 2012, Watts was jailed various offences including affray and threatening violence.

Gold Coast Acting Chief Superintendent Michelle Stenner told the Bulletin the constable is working on restricted duties while the allegations are investigated.

"She is doing administrative duties at the moment," Ms Stenner said.

"She's been stood down for quite some time I think pending the outcome of the investigation."
