Three charged after cop hit by car in Qld

Three men have been charged after a police officer was hospitalised with serious leg injuries during a crash in Brisbane's south.

The incident happened during a police pursuit which began just after midnight on Saturday morning when a vehicle sped away from officers who had approached it at an Inala service station.

A police helicopter helped track the vehicle to a motorway on-ramp at Richlands, where an officer tried to stop it with a tyre deflation device.

Police a 38-year-old male officer was attempting to deploy a tyre deflation device when he was struck by the vehicle.

He was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

A 44-year-old Ipswich man has been charged with numerous offences, including attempted murder and driving without a licence.

Two other men, aged 46 and 47, were charged with drug offences.

All three men are due to face Richalnds Magistrates Court on Monday.
