A man charged with murdering a Gold Coast bikie associate more than a decade ago has been remanded in custody.

Shane Anthony Eric Hansen, 34, was last week charged with the 2001 murder of Finks associate Darren Britza.

Britza, 31, died from a brutal bashing at a panel-beating workshop at Southport.

Two others have been charged with his murder. One of them, Jade Maree Clarke, has been convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment.

Hansen's lawyer Debbie Kilroy appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Wednesday and asked for the case to be adjourned.

Hansen is behind bars and did not appear in court.

He was remanded in custody and his case was adjourned until December 8.

Britza's remains were found in a shallow grave at Boyland in the Gold Coast hinterland in 2008 after being unearthed by record rainfall.
