Central Queensland prisoner on the run

A Queensland inmate has escaped from a low security prison farm near Rockhampton.

Central Queensland police are hunting for Adrian Boughton, a convicted robber, who escaped from Capricornia Correctional Centre sometime before 9.45am (AEST) on Monday, according to the Department of Justice.

He is believed to be 42 and described as 182cm tall, with dark brown hair, numerous tattoos on his arms, chest, legs and back, and a beard.

Boughton is serving time for robbery with violence.

He may still be wearing his prison uniform.
