Cairns cop on drink-driving charge

A Cairns police officer will front court next month, accused of drink driving.

It's alleged the 27-year-old woman was over the limit when she got behind the wheel on Boxing Day.

She was off duty at the time but she has been stood down from official police duties and has had her licence suspended, ahead of her appearance in the Cairns Magistrates Court on January 12.
