Cabbie seriously injured in truck smash

A taxi driver has suffered serious head injuries after smashing into a tow truck north of Brisbane.
The 56-year-old had to be cut from the wreckage of his vehicle at Kippa Ring, and was taken to Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in the early hours of Saturday.
The tow truck driver was uninjured, while his 60-year-old female passenger was taken to hospital for observation.

Forensic specialists are investigating.
