Brisbane robberies could be linked: police

An Indian restaurant, a grocery and a convenience store have been hit within two hours by armed robbers in the south Brisbane area.

Police say the three robberies were all committed by two men, one armed with a gun and the other with a knife.

The first robbery happened at an Indian restaurant in Morningside when two men walked in an demanded cash about 9.20pm on Friday.

The staff didn't comply and the robbers snatched two mobile phones and ran away.

Police say that about 45 minutes later two armed men walked into a convenience store at Coorparoo and went behind the counter.

They demanded cash and cigarettes and the shopkeeper handed it over.

The third robbery occurred when two armed men struck at a grocery at Eight Mile Plain about 11.20pm.

The robbers demanded cash and the assistant complied.

Police say no one was physically injured during the robberies.

The two men are described as being Pacific Islander in appearance, one with a slim build and the other with a solid build, and both are believed to be in their early 20s.
