Bridge to Brisbane: More than 30,000 take part in charity run

More than 30,000 runners have taken part in the annual Bridge to Brisbane charity run this morning.

This year the fun-run boasted new 5km and 10km courses, which took in a number of Brisbane landmarks including Story Bridge and Victoria Bridge.

The Bridge to Brisbane has been run for 20 years and gives participants the chance to raise funds for their selected charity.

Many runners posted updates from the event on social media. 

Many competitors donned colourful costumes for the competition.

A squad of Star Wars Storm Troopers even made an appearance. 

The 10km event winner was Jack Curran, 22, who ran the course in 30 minutes.

Jack Anstey ran the 5km course in just under 16 minutes to take out the top prize for the shorter distance category.
