Boy, 17, dies after being hit by ute on Sunshine Coast

A 17-year-old boy has died after being hit by a ute in Noosa this morning.

Emergency services were called to Claude Batten Drive after reports a pedestrian had been hit by a car just before 2am local time.

The boy, from Cooroy, was treated at the scene, but died of his injuries.

Investigations show the boy was hit by a Ford Ranger.

The driver, a 19-year-old man, was not injured in the incident.

He is now assisting police with their investigations.
