Border force raid shuts down Qld street

A Gold Coast street has been shut down after explosives were found in a home during an Australian Border Force raid.

Queensland police on Thursday afternoon sealed off a residential street at Paradise Point.

A spokesperson from the ABF confirmed officers had executed a warrant at the property in relation to an ongoing investigation into the illegal importation of firearms, parts and accessories.

A number of firearm parts were seized at the home and a man, who is an Australian citizen, was questioned by officers.

Members from Defence's Joint Explosive Ordnance Support office also attended the property and helped in identifying and recovering "a number of items of explosive ordnance".

No arrests were made by police, and no public safety risks were identified.
