The two bodies found in a Queensland shed burned to the ground yesterday have been identified.

Detectives are still investigating the deaths of the father and daughter but say there is nothing at this stage to suggest foul play.

The incident occurred in Biggenden, west of Maryborough, about midday on Tuesday with the fire taking several hours to extinguish.

While they're yet to be formally identified, it's believed those killed were Todd Mooney and his daughter Kirra.

Todd, the local baker, was due to marry his long term partner at the property next week. Today, their shop remained closed.

More than 24 hours after the fire started, what remains of the shed is still smoking and the parts left standing remain structurally unsound, making the investigation incredibly difficult.

"We treat incidents like this as a crime scene [but] that's not to say that anything untoward actually happened," Pettiford said.

Scientific officers remained on scene but it's expected to be several days before detectives have any solid idea of what happened and why the father and daughter could not make it out.

Today, heavy machinery gently removed parts of the rural shed as the recovery mission began.

By late afternoon authorities were able to retrieve the bodies from the rubble.
