Two fighting for life after truck and cars collide on Queensland highway

Two people are fighting for life after two cars and a truck collided on the busy Bruce Highway in Queensland.

Emergency services were called to the road at Bloomsbury, north of Mackay, about 3pm following reports of the smash.

Two people have suffered life-threatening injuries and two others are in stable condition, paramedics have confirmed.

Multiple paramedics are on scene treating the injured while rescue helicopters rush to the crash.

Traffic in the area is affected, with lanes reduced.

Motorists are advised of delays and to proceed with caution.
