Police Minister Jo-Ann Miller may have been cleared, but Queensland's opposition says her judgment is still under a cloud.

Both police and the state's crime watchdog last week opted against investigating Ms Miller after opposition police spokesman Jarrod Bleijie referred her over a phone call she made to a man making criminal allegations against Labor MP Rick Williams.

Opposition Leader Lawrence Springborg says she may have been cleared of interfering in a police investigation, but concerns remain over her lack of judgment.

"The bigger issue here is Jo-Ann Miller's judgment, and I think people would be very concerned about a police minister whose judgment was so poor as to contact a witness when there is a matter afoot, that's the big question here," he said.

Ms Miller feels vindicated by the decision of the authorities not to investigate and has called for Mr Bleijie to apologise, even though she can't see it happening.

"Jarrod Bleijie, if he was man enough, would immediately apologise to me," the minister said.

"However, I'm not holding my breath because that is the petulant type of man he is. He believes he can get away with anything in this state.

"He believes that he can smear people. However, he should apologise, and if he was man enough he should do that immediately."

Ms Miller explained in parliament last month she called her Labor Party friend and constituent Bruce McLean, the day after he made the allegations against Mr Williams, because she was "concerned" about him.

A first-term Labor MP, Mr Williams is currently being investigated by police over the allegations of business impropriety and sexual harassment from more than a decade ago.

Ms Miller insisted she never got involved in police operational matters, but admitted she made a mistake.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk described Ms Miller's call as an "error of judgment" and promised it would not happen again.
