Bandidos boss arrested in Qld

The alleged boss of an outlaw motorcycle gang has been arrested in Queensland for forcing a man to sign over his $200,000 business.

Police say the 50-year-old Victorian man is the national president of the Bandidos motorcycle gang, which is a declared criminal gang in Queensland.

He has been charged with extortion for allegedly forcing a former Bandidos member to sign over his business, valued at about $200,000.

Police say the victim, a Sunshine Coast business owner, was kicked out of the club for complying with a law enforcement requirement in 2011.

"It will further be alleged the accused demanded the victim sign over his Sunshine Coast marble business, his motorcycle and the family home and threatened personal harm to the victim if he did not comply," police say.

Out of fear for his and his family's safety, he transferred the business to a company operated by the accused, it's alleged.

The accused is expected to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on the Sunshine Coast on Tuesday.
