Attempted murder charge after Qld stabbing

A man who allegedly stabbed a woman in the back then chased her into a house where she sought refuge was persuaded to drop his knife by the occupants, police say.

The 27-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder of the 22-year-old woman in the Logan City suburb of Kingston at around 11.45am on Sunday.

Police say the woman knows the man and was stabbed as they argued while sitting in a car.

She fled onto a nearby property, chased by the man through a garage and into the back yard where he allegedly grabbed her and threatened her with a knife.

The occupants of the house, a 39-year-old woman and two men aged 39 and 66, spoke to the man for several minutes and convinced him to put his knife down, police said.

He was arrested without incident and denied police bail to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Monday charged with attempted murder, enter dwelling with intent to commit an indictable offence and threaten to use actual violence.

The woman was taken to Logan General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
