Man charged over Qld boxer's murder

A man has been charged with the murder of a young Queensland boxer.

The 35-year-old was charged on Monday afternoon, hours after being arrested and taken into police custody over the death of Landon Delinecort.

The 24-year-old boxer was taken to a hospital in Bundaberg on Friday night after suffering stab wounds to his torso.

Police say officers were called to a disturbance at a house in Bundaberg on Friday night and were told Mr Delinecort had been driven to hospital.

A second man, believed to be Mr Delinecort's father, was treated for head injuries and released from hospital.

The alleged killer has also been charged with grievous bodily harm and acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and is due to appear in Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
