Army chopper makes emergency landing

An army helicopter has made an emergency landing in north Queensland after smoke began streaming from the aircraft.

The helicopter, which had 10 people on board, touched down at Donnington Airpark in Townsville just after 4.30pm (AEST).

A Queensland Ambulance Services spokesman said initial reports suggested the pilot and co-pilot were affected by smoke inhalation, but no one was treated after being assessed at the scene.
