Armed robber chased off with vacuum tube

A would-be armed robber has fled a Queensland food store after the shop assistant beat him off with a vacuum cleaner tube.

Police say the robber entered the Rochedale South shop in Logan City on Monday evening, threatened the shop assistant with a knife and demanded cash.

But the shop assistant refused and chased the robber out with the cleaning implement.
