Police are calling for witnesses who saw a man in the days before his body was found in a Brisbane sewer to help them piece together his last days alive.

Jason Guise was last seen visiting a food truck on Charlotte Street in the bayside suburb of Wynnum on April 21.

On Wednesday, workers discovered his body inside a tank at a Queensland Urban Utilities sewage pump station on nearby Granada Street.

It took hours for authorities to drain the equipment so they could retrieve his remains, with an autopsy to be carried out on Thursday.

Detectives are investigating the 45-year-old's death as a homicide and are piecing together his movements.

They are asking anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage from the Granada Street or Charlotte Street areas on April 21 to contact police.
