Man charged after Amber Alert issued in Emerald, Queensland

A man, 30, has been charged after two children went missing from Emerald, in Queensland’s central highlands, sparking an Amber Alert yesterday. 

Police have charged the Currajong man with endangering children, contravention of a domestic violence order and possession of a knife. 

He has also been charged with three counts of unlicensed driving and using false registration plates.

A seven-year-old girl and six-year-old boy were travelling with him when they were reported missing.

Police issued an Amber Alert yesterday morning amidst fears for the children’s safety.

They were found safe and well in the Gympie area, police said. 

The man is expected to attend the Gympie Magistrates court on September 12.
