Alleged fake doctor trial delay denied

Prosecutors seeking to delay the trial of an alleged fake doctor on the Gold Coast until the end of next year have been told to speed up the process.

Vincent Berg has been committed to stand trial on 24 charges including grievous bodily harm but his matter has undergone several delays due to key witnesses being based in Russia.

Judge David Kent told prosecutors in Southport District Court on Tuesday they were on their "last chance" to pursue Berg, saying he expected to set a trial date for early next year when the matter is next mentioned on September 19.
