Activists flag possible Adani appeal

An environmental law group says they won't hold up Queensland's controversial Carmichael mine in the courts just to endlessly delay the project.

"We would only commence proceedings in the Commonwealth Court if we thought there was a good legal basis," Environmental Defenders Office Queensland lawyer Sue Higginson told ABC radio on Friday.

"We're not in the business of holding up a project."

However, some conservationists have flagged the possibility of fresh objections to the $16.5 million project after it was re-approved on Thursday, following a Federal Court decision to stand the project's approval aside.
