Young passengers die in Qld crashes

A young male passenger has died after the ute in which he was travelling rolled on the Burnett Highway south of Rockhampton.

The driver, a male in his 20s, was taken to Rockhampton Hospital with non life-threatening injuries following the crash near Dululu about 5am on Saturday.

Specialist police are investigating the crash, which led to the death of the passenger, also aged in his 20s.

Meanwhile, another male passenger has died after the car he was in crashed through a fence and into a tree in western Brisbane.

The driver lost control of the car on Sugars Rd, Anstead, early on Friday night.

The 20-year-old passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, while the 21-year-old driver was taken to hospital for treatment of a cut on his head.
