Qld woman's alleged killer fronts court

A man accused of killing a young mother has appeared in a Queensland court more than three months after the woman was found dead on a riverbank.

Robert Ian Trebeck, 33, appeared in the Proserpine Magistrates Court on Monday, charged with the murder of 24-year-old Alexis Jeffery .

Homicide detectives charged him after his arrest in Bowen on Saturday.

The mother-of-three's body was found by the Macintyre River in the Queensland-NSW border town of Goondiwindi on March 16.

Trebeck's case was transferred to the Goondiwindi Magistrates Court where he will appear on September 30.

He has been remanded in custody.
